Licensing Coordinator

Department: Regular Foster Care-Cottage Grove
Location: Chicago, IL

Kids Above All is seeking a Licensing Coordinator to join our Chicago, IL office.

Job Summary: Facilitate processing of foster care licenses. Participate in recruitment of foster care parents. Provide assistance to departments on foster home licensing issues.

Essential Functions:

  • Conduct initial screening of foster home applicants;
  • Process initial foster home license applications and renewals;
  • Maintain foster parents file sin a manner specified by DCFS procedures; investigate foster home licensing complaints per DCFS requirements.
  • Develop corrective action plans and license revocation package as needed;
  • Responsible for completion of semi-annual and 60 days foster home evaluations;
  • Maintain knowledge of current issue sin licensing, especially regarding rules, practices, procedures and policies;
  • Provide back-up to foster care staff as needed;
  • Actively recruit foster parents for all agency foster care programs;
  • Provide in-service training for staff and foster parents.
  • May provide state approved pre-service training for foster parents;
  • Prepare and tutor staff to pass the DCFS Licensing Foster Homes and the Child Care Act examinations;
  • May participate in the orientation of new foster and adoptive parents;
  • Assists Intake staff in identifying appropriate placements;

Qualifications:

  • BSW or BA degree in Human Services from an accredited college or university.
  • At least two (2) years experience in adoption services required.
  • Bilingual strongly preferred.
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Maintenance of required driver approval standards, plus insured automobile that standards for safety and drive-ability.
  • Perceptive of the needs and responses of the children, and capacity to work well with adults. Ability to organize work, and prepare required reports.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work evening hours, if needed, to carry work out all job responsibilities.
  • Must be able to exercise good judgment, organize and prioritize work.
  • Must already possess DCFS Child Welfare Licensure, CERAP, CCA & 402 certifications.

Master degree salary range: $54,550-$66,550.

Bachelors degree salary range: $50,050- $56,600
